The speaker does not turn on when the device is plugged in
My speaker is plugged into the wall outlet, but won't turn on.
Improper connection to the power outlet
Make sure your speaker is plugged into a working outlet.
Check the connection between the speaker and the power supply to make sure everything is connected correctly.
If you are using a surge protector, check that it is working properly.
Defective power supply/charger
If the speaker still does not turn on, it may be due to a defective power supply. In this case, you may need to buy a new one.
Make sure that you use the power supply that came with your speaker, as other power supplies may not be compatible.
The speaker does not turn on when the battery is in use
The battery is charged, but my speaker still won't turn on.
Speaker settings are affected
If your speaker is not charged or has not been used within 14 days, it will go into protection mode. To change this setting, you need to plug the speaker back into a power outlet.
Defective battery/bad charge
If the battery is defective, you may need to replace it. This guide shows how to replace the battery: Bose SoundLink Mini Battery Replacement.
Another basic problem may be the battery charge. Make sure the battery has enough charge by plugging it back in.
The speaker shows a connection but does not play music
The Bluetooth indicator shows a connection, but the music is not playing.
Device connection/audio playback issues
Although the SoundLink Mini indicates a connection with your device, the device may still not be paired. Check your device's Bluetooth settings to make sure it is paired with the SoundLink Mini.
Devices have transport controls that enable audio playback. If these controls are not set to audio playback, no audio will be passed to the SoundLink Mini.
If you have other devices that are currently using Bluetooth, turn them off as well as the speaker and the device you are trying to pair. If everything is off, turn on just the speaker and the device and start pairing the two.
Problems with speaker settings
Another possible problem could also be that the SoundLink Mini's volume is set too low or even on mute. Adjust the volume properly to check if that was the problem.
If the volume of the speaker is set to an audible level, check the volume of your device as well.
No sound from Bluetooth device
My speakers are not playing music from my device.
SoundLink Mini settings/connection issues
Make sure the SoundLink Mini is not set to mute and the volume is set to the desired level. You can also check that the SoundLink Mini shows a connection to the desired device.
Make sure that the device you are using for the SoundLink Mini is connected via Bluetooth, and is playing music at an adequate volume.
Another problem could be the fact that your device is out of range of the Bluetooth signal. Bring it within range of the SoundLink Mini to make sure it works.
A final solution is to simply turn the SoundLink Mini off and then back on.
Interference from other devices
Sometimes other devices create electromagnetic interference that can interrupt the Bluetooth signal. Move these devices away from the SoundLink Mini and your device to ensure that your device can connect. Such devices may include microwaves, wireless phones, network routers, and other Bluetooth devices.
If other devices use Bluetooth, turn them off or turn off the Bluetooth feature.
Speaker cannot be paired with a Bluetooth device
I can't pair my Bluetooth device with this speaker.
It is impossible to pair it with a device
Make sure your SoundLink Mini speaker is running the latest software. You can check https://www.bose.com/support.html for the latest update. If the software is already up to date, you may need to do a product reset. This can be done in a few simple steps:
Press and hold the speaker's mute button for 10 seconds, the LEDs will flash for a few seconds.
Then press the power button to turn the SoundLink Mini speaker back on.
The device has problems with the connection
On many Bluetooth-enabled devices, there is an option to turn the Bluetooth feature on or off. It can be turned off to reduce the battery consumption of the device. Make sure this option is turned on. When the speaker is paired with a Bluetooth-enabled device, it should connect automatically if the Bluetooth feature is turned on. If the Bose device does not connect automatically, manually select the Bose device from the device's Bluetooth list.
Some devices can be paired with a device but do not connect automatically. Check the pairing list of the device. If it is on it, try to pair it with the SoundLink Mini speaker.
There are too many devices on the pairing list
If that didn't help, you may need to clear your pairing list using these simple steps:
Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the speaker for about 10 seconds until you hear a sound. The speaker will then clear all Bluetooth devices from its memory and can then be recognized again.
Clear the list on your Bluetooth device. You can find more information about this on the support page of the device manufacturer.
If that didn't help, you can try pairing the device again with the following steps:
Turn on both the Bluetooth device and the speaker, then press and hold the speaker's Bluetooth button for 3 seconds to allow it to be detected. The Bluetooth indicator will slowly turn on and off to indicate that the speaker can be detected.
On your device, go to the Bluetooth list and select "Bose SoundLink" from the list.
If your device requires a code, then enter 0000 and press OK. On some devices, you may also need to confirm the connection. Your Bluetooth device will tell you when the pairing is complete. The SoundLink Mini speaker will tell you when the pairing is complete when the Bluetooth indicator stops blinking and stays on.
Distance between device and speaker
The system is designed to work within a range of 30 feet (about 9.1 m). Performance may be reduced by obstacles such as walls or metal, and may also be affected by other Bluetooth devices. Try placing the SoundLink Mini speaker closer to your Bluetooth device.
