BOOX Palma 2 Screen Not Refreshing
The BOOX Palma 2 Screen is not refreshing. This page includes some common issues, and their solutions.
Battery is Discharging volts or has very Low Voltage
- Avoiding full depletion: Plug in the device before it drops to 0% to prevent discharge stress on the internal battery
Force a restart: If the device is unresponsive and or not turning on hold power button for 10-15 seconds to force a hard reboot
Extreme Ambient Temperatures
- Charge: Avoid using high-wattage fast chargers like 67W laptop blocks, use a standard lower-wattage charger instead.
Background Apps: close out of third party browsers or readers that may be stuck in a loop.
Software Bugs or Sensor Malfunctions
- Occasionally, a software glitch or a faulty reading from the device's internal thermal sensor can trigger a false positive alert.
perform a full restart to clear any stuck system tasks or software loops that might be overworking the processor.
Corrupted MicroSD Card or High I/O Stalls
- Reformat the card on a computer to exFAT or run a disk repair scan like CHKDSK to fix corrupted sectors.
- To repair bad sectors and file system errors on your microSD card, run a file systems repair check. Insert it into a computer, open Command Prompt as an administrator, and run the command chkdsk X: /f /r. You would replace X with your card’s drive letter.
Animation Filter Mismatches
- When an app pushes a continuous 60-fps animation stream, the BOOX Super Refresh (BSR) engine struggles to keep up.
- Long-press the app icon, go to Optimize, and increase the Animation filter time (safest between 20–30 or longer) to force the system to ignore minor UI animations.
