Laptop powered off and won’t turn back on.

It is possible that the laptop will not always be fully charged, eventually resulting in a dead battery with repeated use. To fix a drained battery, plug the charger into the laptop, and let it sit and charge. After about 30 minutes, try to turn the laptop on. The screen should turn on and the laptop should be ready for use.

Laptop was working before the update, but after the update the laptop does not do anything once it is turned back on.

During the BIOS update process it is important to follow the steps indicated, and let the laptop restart on its own. The laptop may stop the update process or boot to black if this process is interrupted. Try these steps to reboot your laptop.

1. Force a shut down by holding the power button until the LED indicator turns off, unplug AC power adaptor
2. Re-plug AC power adaptor, and press power button to resume BIOS update, DO NOT unplug AC power adapter or power off the device until update is complete.
3. Once the process is complete, the system should function normally.

Laptop opens and runs programs slowly.

Laptops should be rebooted a couple times a week in order to clean up open files, delete temp files, and update itself. If your laptop has not been rebooted recently, make sure to reboot it before following these next steps.

One of the most common reasons for a slow laptop, is programs running in the background. To correct this simply close out of programs you are no longer using and the system should speed up.

Laptop is turned on but nothing happens when I type.

If you are trying to use the number pad and nothing is showing up, make sure that Num Lock indicator light is lit. If it is not, numbers will not appear when using the number pad.

To correct this, simply take a compressed air duster and blow through to clean the dust and debris out of the system.
