Archos 5 Troubleshooting Guide

Tablet Will Not Power On ¶ 

The tablet will not respond or show any sign of powering up.

Faulty Power Adapter ¶ 

Check to make sure your device is fully charged. Make sure the charger is correctly plugged into the device and the wall outlet. If your Archos 5 does not respond to its adapter, there could a problem with your charger.

Faulty Battery ¶ 

If you have ruled out the possibility of a faulty power adapter, then the battery is faulty. Replace the battery using this guide.

Audio Sound is Distorted ¶ 

You have trouble listening to sounds on your Archos 5.

Faulty Speaker ¶ 

If the audio sound is distorted when listening through the devices’s speakers, the audio speaker may be corrupt. It's unlikely your headphones or speakers are bad, but it's worth a try to eliminate these as the source of your problem at the beginning. Try your Archos 5 with another set of headphones just to make sure that the problem is with the actual device.

Loose Headphone Jack ¶ 

Test audio through the device speakers, then test it using different headphones. If the audio is only distorted while listening via headphones, the headphones themselves may be faulty. Audio that cuts in and out is a sign of a loose audio jack, so make sure the audio jack is fully inserted in the device. If it is not, the headphone jack needs to be replaced

Screen Is Unresponsive ¶ 

The monitor on your Archos 5 doesn’t show anything, and you know it is turned on.

Incorrect Resolution ¶ 

The device may be operating in an incorrect resolution. To fix this, double check the Resolution settings. You should be able to customize your brightness and zoom.

Screen Flickers, Appears Blurry, or is Cracked ¶ 

The most probable cause for this issue is that your screen is internally damaged, If you have ruled out the possibility of an incorrect resolution setting, you may need to replace your screen. To do this, use our guide.
