Anker SoundCore Select 2 A3125
If you are experiencing issues with your Anker SoundCore Select 2 speaker, this troubleshooting guide will help you resolve them.
Speaker Not Charging
Charging port isn’t working, charging cable is broken, or battery is faulty
Faulty Charging Port
For the Select 2, an LED indicator shows that the device is charging. If this light isn’t on, the charging port likely needs to be replaced. Follow this guide to replace the charging port.
Faulty Charging Cable
Visually inspect the charging cable for any physical damage. Look for damage to the connector, or a crimped/frayed part of the cable. If there are no signs of damage, plug the cable into a different device. If it still does not charge, the charging cable is broken and must be replaced.
Faulty Battery
If the speaker works while plugged in, the charging port and charging cable do not need replacement, and the speaker dies shortly after removing it from the charger; the battery must be replaced.
Bluetooth Not Connecting to Device
Device is out of range or Bluetooth is not working
Cannot Connect Device Due to Range
If you are out of range of the Bluetooth device, then your phone or tablet will not connect. To fix this problem you will need to relocate closer to your Bluetooth device and try connecting again. After the connection is successful make sure not to move too far from said device to stay connected.
Broken Bluetooth Chip
If you cannot connect to the Bluetooth, then more than likely the Bluetooth chip is broken. To fix this problem then you will need to replace the chip, but the Anker SoundCore Select 2 A3215 does come with an auxiliary cord if you wish to connect not via Bluetooth. If you want to replace the chip and connect using Bluetooth, check out this guide(hyperlink).
Bad Sound Quality
Sound quality is poor due to consistently high sound level wear or external wave interference.
High Sound Levels
When the speaker is on and playing audio from any source, ensure that the sound level is under 100% to preserve the quality of the speakers. Consistent high sound levels can cause warp/distortion which degrades the sound quality. Follow the repair guide to replace the speakers.
External Wave Interference
Bluetooth uses waves to connect to other devices. If the sound output is poor while using the device via a Bluetooth connection, disable the Bluetooth on other nearby devices, as those could cause wave interference and distort the audio.
Speaker Driver
Audio quality from speaker is distorted and fuzzy
Mechanical rattling from speaker
This issue could be a result of the audio level on the speaker being set too high. To resolve this, shut off the device completely by holding the power button for 10 seconds and releasing it. If this issue still occurs, connect the speaker to a different device and check if the audio is still giving a rattling sound. If all of this does not work, follow this guide(hyperlink).
