Amazon Echo Glow light flashing red
The Amazon Echo Glow will not stop flashing red when it is turned on.
Wi-Fi/Internet Issues:
No Wifi connection can cause the light to flash red. Confirm your smartphone and Echo Glow have an active 2.4 Ghz Wifi connection. The Amazon Echo Glow does not support 5 GHz networks or connecting to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) Wi-Fi networks.
Faulty/Stuck Action Button
The smart lamp flashing red can be an indicator that the action button is faulty or that it is stuck, causing the echo glow to flash red. First try gently pressing on the action button that is located on the back of the device. Listen for a click that it should make. If you don't hear a click or it feels like the button isn't pressing down like it should, that is a sign that the action button needs to be replaced. To replace the button follow our step-by-step guide on how to replace the component.
Microphone is Muted:
Check that your device isn't muted, the light indicator is red when your device is muted. The amazon echo does not have a physical microphone instead it uses voice command. Using the Alexa app you can turn the microphone on and off, or you can try using voice command. Try saying “Alexa turn off microphone” or “Alexa unmute”
Amazon Echo Glow is Frozen
The red light can be an indicator you need to reset your echo glow. Simply unplug the power adaptor from the wall outlet or the back of the echo glow. Wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in. If this does not work try to do a factory reset. You will need to press and hold the power button on the device for 15-20 seconds.
