Asus Transformer Pad TF103C Troubleshooting

The Asus Transformer Pad is a 10.1-inch Android tablet with a clear 1280 x 800 IPS display. The tablet lasts longer than a typically working day with a 9.5 hour battery life.

Tablet won’t charge ¶

Even when it is plugged into an outlet, the tablet does not charge.

Torn wire or cord ¶

Check to see if there are any rips in the wire. If capable, you can solder the wire back together, or you can opt to purchase a new wire as a replacement

Dead outlet ¶

The obstacle to charging may not be from the device itself , but from the outlet. To be certain the outlet is malfunctioning, use similar technological devices that would require the use of the outlet and see if they lack a source of power as well. If they do, then try using a different outlet. Make sure you try with the ASUS Charger that came with the tablet. It is more powerful than a standard USB charger.

Bad battery ¶

It is possible that the battery is bad. If the tablet only works when plugged into charger, then the battery needs replacement

Frozen Screen ¶

The screen does not respond to touch and display stays the same.

Battery is Low ¶

Plug into an outlet and charge the tablet. It could respond once tablet is charging.

Needs rebooting ¶

Tablet might be overworked and in need for a reboot. If so, press and hold down the power button for about 10 seconds until tablet powers off.

Software Problem ¶

If reboot does not work, then hold down the volume down button on the left side of the tablet and hold down the power button, at the same time. Keep holding them down until a bootloader screen shows up. Then wait till a prompt comes up on the screen and tells you to press the volume up button to start the factory resetting process. It will completely reset the tablet to a default state.

Unresponsive Camera ¶

The camera is failing to load or the Andriod OS is unable to connect to the camera.

Needs rebooting ¶

Tablet might require a reboot. If so, turn off the tablet either through the menu or by holding the power button until the tablet turns off. Then press the power button to power it on again.

Outdated OS ¶

Go to Settings and find system updates button. Then follow the prompts to make sure your system is completely up to date.

Sound/speaker is distorted ¶

The sound has suddenly stopped working while playing.

Needs rebooting ¶

Speakers might be overworked and in need of a reboot. If so, press and hold down the power button for about 10 seconds until tablet powers off.

Software Issue ¶

If reboot does not work, then hold down the volume down button on the left side and hold down the power button, at the same time. Keep holding them down until a bootloader screen shows up. Then, wait till a prompt comes up on the screen and tells you to to press the volume up button to start the factory resetting process. It will completely reset the tablet to a default state.

Outdated OS ¶

Go to Settings and find the system updates button, then follow the prompts to make sure your system is completely up to date.

Tablet won’t turn on ¶

Tried and cannot get tablet to turn on.

Drained battery ¶

The battery may just be drained. Plug it into charger and wait a few minutes for it to turn on.

Bad battery ¶

The battery could be bad and only run when it is plugged in. So if the tablet shuts off shortly after unplugging it from the charger, you will need to replace the battery.

Bad charging cord ¶

The tablet could just not be charging when it is plugged in. Check to see if there are any rips in the wire. If capable, you can solder the wire back together, or you can opt to purchase a new wire as a replacement.

Screen broken ¶

If all of the above does not seem to be the issue, your screen could be broken. To check this, plug the tablet into the charger. There is a light next to the power button that shows it is charging. If after a few minutes it does not show anything, then your screen is broken and may need to be replaced.

This nice looking table bundle (leather protector, docking keyboard, 10 inches tablet and Android 4.42) looks nice, but it actually is a big sac of ... garbage. Touchscreen quits working every couple of days, then it already stops working at all. Battery doesn't last even half the time advertised. AND try and get help to fix your tablet. Good luck!

I've have very good experiences with my asus laptops. I would NEVER repeat with asus tablets. Mostly because their support stinks.

Love this tablet. WHEN it works. Screen not responsive to touch randomly. Power button nearly impossible to activate. ZERO customer support

I also have had a touch-screen issue with a TF103C tablet. I opened the case and re-seated the screen pig-tails and the screen again became fully responsive. Then some time later the screen was again unresponsive. I'd read that a static buildup on the screen can cause the screen to become unresponsive so I opened the back but this time just touched the screen pigtail connector rather than re-seating the connector. Again the screen regained its touch control. I think there's something to the static build-up theory and will use that fix in the future.
