ASUS Tablet MeMo Pad 7 ME7000C Troubleshooting
This trouble shooting page will help you diagnose issues with the ASUS Tablet.
Screen flickers/is Not Responding
When the device is turned on, the screen flickers or is non-responsive.
Screen is Frozen
If the screen is frozen, try turning the tablet off by holding down the power button and letting it rest for 30 seconds before turning it back on. Wait 15 seconds after it turns on to test out the screen.
System Malfunction
If the screen does not respond after turning it off and back on, you could have a system malfunction. To restore the tablet to factory settings, turn it off. While holding down the volume button, hold down the power button at the same time. When the boot menu appears on the screen select ‘Recovery Mode’ from the listed options by using the volume buttons. When an Android image appears on the screen, press the power button. Using the volume down button, select ‘Wipe Data/Factory Reset’ from the options, and use the volume up to confirm. Select ‘Yes- Delete all User Data’ using the volume buttons again. The tablet will then factory reset.
Screen is damaged
If the screen is cracked, damaged, or unresponsive, you may need to replace the screen.
No SD Card Available
The tablet tells you ‘No Card is Available’ but you have one inserted.
SD Card Reader is loose or disconnected
Open the back panel and check the SD Card Reader connection. To remove the back panel, use a black spudger to pry the tablet apart at the crease and run it along the edge of the tablet until all the edges are disconnected. Reattach the card reader if it is loose or disconnected.
Bad Card
If the card reader/device connection is intact, you could have a bad card. Replace the card with a new one.
Faulty Card Reader
If the card reader is connected to the device and the card is of good quality, you could have a faulty card reader. The card reader will need to be replaced.
Cannot Take Photos/Photos Are Not Clear
Your tablet will not take photos or the photos it takes are not clear.
Low Charge
If the battery on the tablet is low, the camera app may not be able to run to allow the tablet to take photos. Charge the tablet and try again to take photos at a later time.
Camera App Malfunction
Check for a software update and update the tablet if applicable. To check for system updates, open the devices system app. Next, tap 'System' then scroll down to System at the bottom of the menu, then click 'About' at the top. Tap 'System update' and check the status of your software. Once the update status is shown, follow any additional steps. If there is no software update, try powering the tablet off and back on again by pressing and holding down the power button.
Not Enough Storage
Free up memory for new photos on the tablet by deleting unwanted photos or applications or add memory to the tablet by installing an SD card into the card reader slot on the upper left hand side of the tablet.
Dirty Camera Lens
A dirty camera lens could obstruct the view of the camera lensnand cause photos to be blurry, unclear, or grainy. Remove dust or smudges from the camera lens by gently rubbing it with a soft cloth.
Faulty/Cracked Camera Lens
If the camera lens is cracked or not functioning, the lens will need to be replaced. Replace the camera lens using this replacement guide.
Tablet Will Not Power On
Your tablet does not turn on when you press the power button.
Dead Battery
Plug the tablet into charging cable and try again at a later time to turn it on.
Disconnected battery
Remove the back of the tablet and reconnect the battery wires. To remove the back of the tablet, use a black spudger and gently slide it into the crease of the tablet along the edge. Move the spudger, while in the crease, along the length of the tablet until all the edges are disconnected and pull the tablet from the back panel. Replace the back piece by pressing the front and back together and snapping it back in place. Power on the tablet.
Faulty Battery
If the battery is faulty, it will need to be replaced. Replace the tablet battery using this replacement guide.
Short Battery Life
When not plugged in, your tablet dies quickly.
Weak/Loose Battery Connection
Remove the back of the tablet. To remove the back of the tablet, use a black spudger and gently slide it into the crease of the tablet along the edge. Move the spudger, while in the crease, along the length of the tablet until all the edges are disconnected and pull the tablet from the back panel. Disconnect the battery and clean away any debris using a microfiber cloth that may hinder the connection of the battery to the tablet. Reconnect the battery and replace the back piece of the tablet. Replace the back piece by pressing the front and back together and snapping it back in place. Hold down the power button and power the tablet back on.

Will Not Charge
When plugged into the charging cable, the tablet shows no signs of charging.
Dirty Charging Port
Power the device off by holding down the power button and using a toothpick, gently remove debris from the charging port. Reconnect the tablet to the charging cord.
Faulty Power Outlet
Plug the charger into a different power outlet.
Faulty Charging Cable
The charging cable may be broken. Buy a new charging cord and connect to tablet to new cord.
Faulty Charging Port
Replace the broken charging port.
