The Device Will Not Turn On ¶
The device will not turn on or does not seem to charge
Pad Is Not Being Turned On Properly ¶
In order to turn the pad on, the power button must be pressed and held until the device starts up. If the screen is locked, be sure to unlock the device screen.
Pad Is Not Charged ¶
If the pad does not turn on, it may not be charged. You need to plug it in and charge the pad a bit before turning on. If it is your first time using the pad, it comes partly charged, but you will need to charge it fully for 8 hours before the first use.
Charger Is Faulty ¶
Check to see if the charger works with other devices and with other outlets. If the charger doesn’t work with other outlets or devices, order a new charger to replace your current one.
The Battery Connector Disconnects From The Device Easily ¶
If you look by the charge port, there is a screen that should be popped out. Using a plastic smudger, pry the screen off by working it around the frame. When the screen is off, you can get to the battery and make sure it is securely in the terminals. Our guide about replacing the battery should go over the steps fully.
Non-responsive Touch Screen ¶
The touch screen will not respond
The Screen Is Frozen ¶
The tablet’s screen could just be frozen. Give it a few seconds. If it doesn’t respond after that try turning your tablet off for a few seconds and turning it back on again. Give it a few seconds before testing the screen.
The System Is Broken ¶
It is possible that a factory reset could help to get the touchscreen to work. First, turn off the device then hold the volume up and power button at the same time for a couple of seconds. When the boot menu appears release the keys. Using the volume up to scroll and volume down to confirm, choose the recovery mode. When an Android image appears on the screen press the power button. Press volume down to choose factory reset and hit volume up to confirm. Select “Yes-delete all user data” using the volume down to scroll and the volume up key to select. The tablet will then factory reset.
Screen Cable Is Broken Or Loose ¶
If a cable is broken or loose it can be replaced or reattached respectively.
The Touch Screen Is Broken ¶
If the cables are fine and seem to be in working order you will have to replace the screen for the the touch screen to function.
The Motherboard Is Broken ¶
If the cables aren’t the cause it may be the motherboard. You will probably have to remove the motherboard from the tablet and replace it for the screen to work again. Our guide on how to repair a motherboard will help you get it fixed.
Wi-fi Issues ¶
The pad is having problems connecting to wifi
The Pad Will Not Connect To The Internet ¶
Make sure that you are connected to a network. On the ‘settings’ screen select ‘wifi’ to display all the detected networks in your area. Tap the network that you wish to connect to. You may be prompted for a password or security code to access the network.
ZinLink Issues ¶
The pad is having issues getting Zenlink to work properly
ZenLink Is Not Working ¶
ZenLink is comprised of the following apps: Party Link, Share Link, PC Link, and Share Link. Make sure all of these apps are running. If they are not running properly, close them, wait a few minutes and then re-launch them. Also check to make sure they are up to date. If they are out-dated, you should consider up-grading them.
Bluetooth Issues ¶
The pad is not connecting to Bluetooth
Bluetooth Is Not Working ¶
Make sure that the bluetooth share app is running. Try disabling the services from settings menu and re-connect.
Before using the bluetooth feature, you must pair it with the bluetooth device. In the settings menu select ‘Bluetooth’ to display all available devices. (If the device that you want to connect to is not listed, be sure to enable its bluetooth feature so that your Asus pad can find it.) Tap the device you would like to pair with and make sure that the same passkey shows for both devices. Tap ‘pair’.
System Needs Updating ¶
If anything is not connecting properly, check to see if there are any updates for the system. If there is, you may want to consider updating it.
The Camera Not Working ¶
The camera on the pad is not functioning properly or is not taking pictures
Camera App Not Working ¶
You can check to make sure the camera app on the device is working. If not you can download additional camera apps from the Google Play Store for Android.
Dirty Lens ¶
Make sure that the lens is free from all obstructions. Clean dirt and screen using a microfiber cloth if necessary.
Camera Lens Needs To Be Replaced ¶
The Speakers Are Not Working ¶
The speakers don’t produce sound
Sound Drivers May Need To Be Updated ¶
The sound drivers may need to be updated. Go to “Settings Manager” and select “Update Driver” to update the sound card.
Sound Drivers Not Working Properly ¶
The sound card drivers may need to be reinstalled for the speakers to work. Look under the “Settings Manager” menu to reinstall the drivers.
Replacing The Speakers ¶
If after doing both of the following software checks, the problem may be a hardware issue with the speaker.The speakers can be replaced by following our guide.
