Answer to: Backlight only, no image after screen replacementHello All, First - thank you to those that followed up to my post here. I appreciate your time and expertise! This is a follow-up/conclusion to my situation. To recap - it was to be a routine front glass replacement on a CDMA iPhone 4 due to a cracked digitizer screen glass. I tend to order the complete assembly to make is easy to turn around the repair, which it what I did. After the new digitizer assembly was installed and the unit was reassembled the result was a blank screen with only a backlight coming on, just a blank screen, no image. I went back and rechecked everything by disassembling and reassembling again, paying attention to all details. Same result - blank screen with only the backlight coming on. I plugged the unit into a PC and it was recognized, etc. No issue there. To wrap-up here - I decided to reorder the digitizer assembly thinking it was received defective as there was no indication of a torn cable or other damage to the digitizer assembly. Answer to: Front glass panel replacement. Also, as you will find, there are no suppliers out there that are selling the front panel/LCD assembly with the home button installed. The home button is not easily replaced as it is unlike previous models and is "fused" to the front panel. Has anyone found a method to remove the home button from the damaged panel and put it onto the replacement panel??
Answer to: Can I assemble my iPod touch 4g digitizer? One other thing that is not obvious until you are into the repair is the home button. It is "fused" to the rear of the panel in some way and it is not clear from anyone out there so far as to how to remove from the damaged front panel and put on the replacement. Any thoughts on this??
Answer to: when will you have replacement glass for iPhone 4Joshua, When you are looking for the rear panel glass, please keep in mind that the glass attaches to a frame that is similar in design (not the same frame of course) as the iTouch front panel. It is plastic and somewhat difficult to go through the process of mounting the glass to the frame. We would recommend finding the entire assembly for the rear cover versus the frame and glass panel separately. If you have further questions, feel free to drop us an email at email@example.com
Answer to: How to replace the back panel, but glass onlyThe actual replacement is straight forward, however, the frame to which the glass panel attaches can be difficult. The design is similar to the iTouch front panel, so if you are familiar with performing that repair, it may not be a problem. We would recommend finding the entire rear assembly and simply replacing it. If you need further assistance feel free to drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
