Answer to: Why does my 13" MacBook Pro freeze temporarily?I had this same problem. I shouldn't say 'had' because I still do. I tried new RAM and a new HARD DRIVE (Switched to a 256 GB SSD) and, if anything, it has gotten worse. Now it locks up for 10-20 minutes, I end up just force powering it down and booting up again (SSD makes this a lot less painful than a standard drive). I've read somewhere that it could be a faulty hard drive cable...I may try that next.
