On both sides of the battery, there is a lighter grey half-circle. This is the best place to use your fingers to gently lift the battery free of the housing. Set aside the old battery, then replace it with the new battery. It should easily fit into place.

Attach the ribbon cable to the new hard drive and follow steps 1-3, in reverse, to complete the installation.
Carefully, pry the ribbon away from the pins.
You can use a spudger (tool shown in photo) to remove the ribbon cable from the hard drive.
Next, you will remove the mounting frame and the plastic shield.
First, you will need to remove the five T8 torx screws that mount the hard drive to the internal frame.
After completing the initial disassembly, you may proceed to hard drive replacement.
