Usually found in the charging and headphone port, the water indicators are a very rare species that come as white with red X's. I would suggest ti keep them away from water because that may cause problems with them, as a species. No but seriously your screwed if they are red. Almost no insurance covers water. The litmus has to be white for them to accept the phone.
That is an older phone. All you can really try that will REALLY help is to do a factory wipe. It worked for my brothers casio gz'one. That phone has a very bad processor in it so i am glad i did the reset.
IF you have a mac, connect it over wifi and it should detect it through system preferences -> Printers & Scanners -> the little + button at the bottom of the list. For windows, you can just download the drivers, Control panel -> Printers -> add a new device. Now it should show up in the list. Select it and you should be good to go! Remember to connect it via wifi or Ethernet cable/lan.
I have a similar problem. My trackpad just sags like the button on the iphone 4s, meaning i have to keep fixing this problem but tilting my laptop upside-down. Imagine doing that in a library while getting homework done!
