Answer to: xoom wouldn't shut off pulled the battery. How do I diagnose?I pulled the contacts to the power switch apart as our friend did and made certain it was getting contact, cleaned what I could, tested the voltage and by now it has dropped to 2.5v Checked if it's taking charge & the charging port contacts are worn beyond use.I'm now charging it directly to the battery terminals,it's taking a chrge while I write this.I'm a little concerned that it may be desighned to pass through some other components but hey-I have to start somewhere. Will update as I progress.
Answer to: Power button is nonresponsiveI have the same problem ,posted it weeks ago on the site,no responses. This happened just after my portable wi fi went on the blink. What was going on before Your problem occured? By the way,the only way I got mine to shut off was disassemble it and manuallky disconnect the battery. Update: That sounds exactly like what was going on before mine went out.You May have just answered my Question. Your fix reminds me of what happens to battery and other teminals when they get coroded. It's possible a tiny bit of corrosion or foreign material was between terminals.Thank You for responding
Answer to: Phillips screw inside stripped!I make my own driver bits many times if ther's a shape I don't have in my collection.I keep old stripped out drivers especially for that purpose. It really isn't too difficult to take a 3.corner file or hack-saw blade, whatever shape cutting tool is needed and just cut a new tool.
