Answer to: Lcd not working properly after screen assembly replacement?I have had the same plaid/checker board. even split between partial connection and damaged connectors on the mother board. Picked at one connector on a phone with my finger nail and it fell off the board. It is one more reason i hate apple i any thing.
Answer to: Replaced Screen now it turns on but screen is only dark black.+1 to the possible defective screen. Also it is entirely possible there was other damage done to the phone when the screen got broke. I have had a overly high failure rate on the 5 line of iphones. Esp the 5c. As for cheap copies they are in most cases oem and not after market. Glass for phones can be oem or after market. Now there are 100% fake/mock up lcds out there that look real but are nothing more than glass plastic and paint with salvaged ribbons from real lcd parts. You have a 50 50 chance between damaged board and bad part when you have problems with a lcd after replacement.

Explain to your customer the glass only repair is a small gamble to save allot of money. But that you will not say that you can do it with 100% certainty and that they may have to go with the full lcd in the end. Do not lie to them tell them how many repairs you did this way and how many of those required the lcd in the end. The customer will always take the risk and accept the potential for full assembly replacement 99% of the time any how. Truth is and i do not care how many repair techs say other wise no one can do glass only repairs with zero failures. To many variables in how good the glue job is under the lcd. A void under the lcd in the wrong place will result in a busted lcd with no fault on the part of the tech.
