Answer to "vertical line on left side of tv and pixelated noise all."Sounds like the AV (Audio Video Board) is failing. Removed the rear panel and replacing that should resolve your issue. You could also try to reseat the connections to the AV board (unplugging them and plugging them back in). When removing the aluminum rear panel use protective gloves since the edges of the aluminum is ofter very sharp. You can cut your hand easily without protection. Here is the board you may need to replace: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-UN40ES6580FXZA-UN40ES6580F-MAIN-BOARD-BN94-05656N-/152276067623?hash=item23745c6527:g:BnoA...-CpX~YEC NOTE: The power supply on TV's have capacitors that can cause electrical shock. Always unplug your device prior to servicing it.
Answer to "LCD ribbon lockdown device."You could try to place teflon tape on top of the ribbon before plugging it in to try to allow the pins in the female connector to touch the lcd flex. Other wise you would need to send that out for service. Otherwise you'll need to have it repaired professionally.
