Hi there! Thanks for checking out my page. I’m Hunter Golat and I’m a senior at Grand Valley State University.

I’m a currently senior at Grand Valley State University majoring in Geology with an Environmental emphasis and a minor in Biology. Over the course of my educational career, I’ve studied many different subjects and tried out a few different degrees, giving me a decent amount of knowledge in areas like math, engineering, chemistry, physics, and more. I take a great amount of pride in performing well in my studies.

I have a wide array of interests and this has made career-searching quite the task. No matter what I do, I’d like to either undertake academic research in some form or work in conservation.

One project that I’d like to highlight is a mapping project I completed for my Geomorphology course in the Fall of 2020. I mapped strand plains (repeating sequences of abandoned beach ridges) and some coastal dune fields in Mackinac county and synthesized previous research to assign an age to those landforms by the principle of relative dating. My project was compiled into a poster and I presented it online to the class.Slide 1

In my free time, I like to hike, birdwatch, shoot film photography, and go trout fishing.
