You may have an aftermarket screen that has the homebutton cable defective if nothing is wrong with it and works on the original cracked screen. I suggest warrantying it or getting another one from another seller.
Take apart your device again and see if there is any damage to the digitizer connection flex cable. If none then reassemble and be sure you sit the cable properly onto its designated fpc connector slot.
Horizontal lines may be a sign of a failing or damaged LCD. You can possible have it repaired by a T.V repair technician or if it’s not worth it just replace. If there is no signs of physical damage or water damage you may be under the limited warranty that LG provides
