On the screen I purchased from iFixit, the the connector’s cable was .5mm too long so that it wouldn’t fit on the two tiny pins. But I have put it all back together and it works great.
The rear glass is very fragile. I cracked mine across the camera opening while cleaning off the old sealant. Next time ( I will have to order one and do it again…doh) I’ll place it on a flat surface while cleaning it.
Went well for me, I went slow. Adhesive tape snapped when trying pull it out. Other than that, the little connectors are a bit tricky to line up properly. I prefer the pentalobe screws as they fit flush, the supplied phillips ones don’t.
To be clear, can this procedure be used to replace a lens that has got stuck due to a drop? And a source(s) for the replacement part would be great.
