FYI the battery connectors are different on these two batteries and the A1382 battery will NOT in fact work as it won't go into the connector port- if you look closely there is a small strip of plastic that prevents it from going in
The next immediate step should be to remove the cable for the battery from the motherboard, lower left corner. That will keep you from accidentally turning the phone on while working with it.

Had the same thing- I disconnected the home button cable, cleaned it, and reconnected and it came back. Be sure all connections are solid
