By booting to the CD meaning, with the power off you insert CD, hold and maintain C key and power up? While continuing to hold the C key until you take root... ? lol I am assuming that you don't have another Mac around?

If you have the installation cd try re-booting from it. Careful not to clean-install on first attempt, although you might eventually have to do so. At least this way, you will be able to figure out if your problem is hardware or software. To reboot from the cd with the power off, I need to know if you have a laptop or desktop.

  • Answer to: How do you fix a toaster?

I have done this a couple of these over the years. Often it is caused by an accumulation of crumbs around the thermal shut off sensor which causes shut off quicker because toaster gets hotter quicker. The fix it is unplugging the toaster, taking the outer shell off and cleaning all visible reside out of toaster. Compressed air, wooden skewers, and slightly damp, lint free cloths are helpful. Remember if wiping with damp cloths, please let toaster thoroughly dry before reassembly.
