I followed the instructions and it worked just fine. The battery was the original with over 4 years of life and lately it barely had half a day to give. Upon disassembly I nticed it was bulging noticeably. The change didn’t come a moment too soon. The new battery worked a bit weird: first I just connected the pad and tried to start the phone, which went very well; WiFi signal was very poor due to ot having any antenna connected, but it did work. Armed with the knowledge that the new battery works, I pressed it on the glued cradle and surprise, it didn’t start any more - I had to do the power+volume down trick and it started. Eversince it’s fine.
The phone seems to be confused about the SoC of new battery - it jumps between 34 and 41%, but it may just need time to settle. The phone is fast, stable and the fire test would be to use it as car GPS, that’s what pushed the old battery over the edge.
