Is it possible to solder a power cable clip?I've got a mini that when taking the power button cable off the logic board snapped the clip that holds it to the logic...
Answer to "Why it starts when power is connected?"On my mini, it was a bad power button. On the back by the button there's a cable that connects to the logic board. That website sells basically a replacement button that clips into the logicboard. I believe they use it as an extender for car audio. You're going to have to solder the wire to the button. And then just plug it in and use that button to power on and off. I'm sure you could whip the same thing together out of the parts bin at radio shack but I'm lazy.
Answer to "Why it starts when power is connected?"I had this problem. It was a bad button. There's an car audio website - mp3car.com - that sells button extenders that plug right into the power button jack on the logic board. Not as pretty as using the actual button, but $13 beats having to buy a brand new logic board.
