Fix Your Stuff

Right to Repair

My name is Chelsea Phillips and this is my fourth and final year at EWU. This coming spring I will be graduating with a B.A. in Visual Communication Design, and a minor in Studio Art. I am a decent problem solver, but my biggest strength for this project will most likely be my design skills. My degree requires me to think about word usage, imagery, layout, and usability. I also love photography, which will be beneficial for this project. I have taken both a digital photography class, and a film photography class while at Eastern Washington University. I also own a DSLR camera, and I have access to a photography studio with lights and other equipment.

I love the idea of fixing something yourself. I grew up in a very small town with my dad who is a mechanic, and one of the most frugal people I know. Growing up with him taught me that if something breaks there’s almost always a way to fix it. I know how to use most tools fairly well, and if not I am usually very good at figuring it out. I am excited to begin this project because it will help my technical writing skills, as well as enhance my design skills.
