Background Information
Announced the morning of May 7th, 2024, Apple's 5th generation 11-inch iPad Pro and 7th generation 13-inch iPad Pro have been refreshed for the first time since 2018. Available in both the previously-available 11-inch and new-for-2024 13-inch sizes, they feature new Ultra Retina XDR displays with "tandem OLED" technology, debut with the new M4 SoC, and support for the new Apple Pencil Pro. The front-facing camera has been moved to the landscape edge and the base storage has been increased from 128 to 256 GB. The cellular model now only supports eSIM, not compatible with physical SIM cards anymore.
The 5th generation 11-inch iPad Pro and new 13-inch iPad Pro are Apple’s first devices to use the M4 chip.
The 5th generation 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $999 and is available in either Silver or Space Black.
Identification
The 5th generation 11" iPad Pro notably shrunk in size for 2024 and is thinner than the outgoing model. The aluminum back case extends over the camera bump and the charging port is USB-C.
