Background
The Apple Watch Series 12 is Apple's twelfth-generation smartwatch. It was announced alongside the Apple Watch Ultra 4 on September 9, 2026.
The Series 12 is available in GPS or GPS + cellular configurations. The titanium and ceramic case options are only available with GPS + cellular.
It's available in two sizes, at 42 mm and 46 mm. The aluminum variant has a screen that's more scratch-resistant than the Series 11, but sapphire glass is exclusive to the titanium and ceramic case versions.
The Series 12 differentiates from its predecessor, the Series 11, by introducing more durable glass and adds a ceramic case option, a first since the Series 5.
Identification
Information about your Apple Watch such as the name and size are etched on the bottom. Additionally, you can identify your watch by the model number printed in the watch band groove, or by opening the Apple Watch app on your phone and navigating to General > About and clicking on Model Number.
The Apple Watch Series 12 looks identical to its predecessor, the Series 11.
The Series 12 is available in aluminum, titanium, and ceramic case options. The aluminum finish options are dark bronze, light gold, black, and space gray. Titanium finish options are radiant gold and natural. Ceramic finish options are pearl white and night blue. The Series 12 also has an Hermés option, which is available in silver or radiant gold polished titanium.
