What you need

    • Unplug your device and take out the battery

    • Avoid leaving the battery in unless you want to get shocked

    • Slide the locked switch to the unlock position.

    • Unscrew all screws on the main body. NOT IN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT

    • Keep the screws in a small bag or container with separate compartments for reassembly

    • Remove the screws from the HDD and RAM compartment

    • Then remove the cover for the compartment, and use a pry tool if necessary

    • Use some tweezers to remove both the black and white cable connecting to the wifi module, and wiggle them back and forth if needed. The cables connect upwards so don't move them towards the sides only rotate if wiggling

    • Don't use excessive force, they should just slide out.

    • To finish with the wifi module just unscrew the 1 screw located on the module, then pull it out.

    • If you can't get it out, then leave it in it shouldn't get in our way

    • Remove all screws in the HDD&RAM compartment and all screws in the battery compartment

    • Don't touch the screws on the HDD itself

    • There are little clips peppered along to top of the keyboard push them in then use a pry tool to keep the keyboard up.

    • Lift up the keyboard and disconnect the ribbon cable

    • And, TaDa! You removed the keyboard and got so far into this teardown, there's not a lot to go so keep going!

    • Remove all screws labelled "5L" and keep them seperate

    • Use a pry tool along the edges to remove the top main body

    • Make sure to disconnect the ribbon cables and connector shown
