Teardown

What you need

This teardown is not a repair guide. To repair your Game Drive for Xbox, use our service manual.

  1. Game Drive for Xbox Teardown, Open the Cover: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Using a Pry tool, remove the cover

    • This could break the plastic pins that keep the enclosure sealed. Nothing tape can't fix.

    • Take the cover off the drive

    • Lifting from the end without the USB port. Remove the drive from the case.

    • Carefully peel away the shielding

    • With careful pressure slowly pull the adapter off the drive.

    • Keep the adapter, it is Sata to USB 3.2 Gen 1, they have value

    • Don't pull from the end, you will likely break the adapter

ok, but after I pull the adapter off the drive, what next? How can I conect with laptop? I need another cable? What king of cable?
