This teardown is not a repair guide. To repair your Acer Optical Mouse, use our service manual.

  1. Acer Optical Mouse Teardown, Gather Items: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Lay out your mouse and gather your tools.

  2. Acer Optical Mouse Teardown, Remove sticker: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Use metal spudger to lift sticker

  3. Acer Optical Mouse Teardown, Unscrew: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Using a phillips #0, unscrew the screws

  4. Acer Optical Mouse Teardown, Lifting the lid: step 4, image 1 of 1
    • Applying some force lift the mouse top up and backward at the same time to disconnect it

  5. Acer Optical Mouse Teardown, Remove scroll wheel: step 5, image 1 of 1
    • Once inside pull on the scroll wheel to remove it from the board

  6. Acer Optical Mouse Teardown, Remove motherboard: step 6, image 1 of 1
    • Pull on the cable and the board should come out

  7. Acer Optical Mouse Teardown, Remove plastic: step 7, image 1 of 1
    • Then pull out the plastic at the bottom

  8. Acer Optical Mouse Teardown, All done: step 8, image 1 of 1
    • All done just follow guide in reverse to reassemble

The wireless version of this mouse has 2 extra screws under the other two small pads and arranged differently because of the battery compartment intrusion into available space. There was also a small screw retaining the circuit board.
