My Problem

I put the laptop in a bag that had some sand vestiges on it (without realizing), some of it got on the keyboard. At first I tried to clean it, but it didn't go so well - had to end up changing the keyboard.

My Fix

Went well, took a little longer than other reports I saw. Maybe 5h total.

My Advice

When putting the speaker back (under the optical drive), make sure it's really tight. First time I opened the laptop it wasn't 100%, and it was interfering with the drive (blocking DVDs). Had to open it again and in the end worked. I didn't see much difference in the two attempts, so I'm guessing the difference it REALLY small.

My Problem

Cracked screen of course

My Fix

The repair went well all the way until I tried to use the home button on the new display assembly only to find that it wouldn't depress, which made me depressed.

So I opened it up and the button would depress. Clicked it back in and it would work with needing to be depressed, but when I put the two case screws in it stopped working again.

So I took the Home button of the old assembly and put in on the new, reassembled and it worked! And now I'm the only person I know with a phone that matches any Tux (black assembly, white home button).

My Advice

I found the best way to remove the home button ribbon cable was with a razor blade or box cutter. Gotta be careful that the blade is aimed slightly down toward the display assembly and not up into the cable. Start in the middle between the two contacts, take one contact off, then the other. It's a strong adhesive for a delicate cable, but if you cut through the glue, you're home free. Or free of home (button).

My Problem

My son is in the "IT" field and is always wanting more tools and your store has plenty of them.

My Fix

There was no certain reason I bought these products except for that Christmas is coming and my son loves your store. He gave me long list of things that he would like to have and I was able to buy many items because of your good prices.

My Advice

Buy, buy buy. Products are of good quality.

My Problem

These are wonderful and useful tool items with no certain purpose in mind.

My Fix

Well the repair that I bought these items for hasn't happened yet. He won't open them until Dec. 25th. Oh boy, then he'll tear stuff up like there's no tomorrow.

My Advice

These many tools that I purchased were for my son for Christmas. He is in the IT field. He has purchased many items from you before and just loves them. That is why he recommended more items from your store to help him with his career and I thought that why not make him more successful than me, (I'm not in the IT area, I can barely type this response.)

My Problem

I had pushed so hard on the screen for about 2 years it became darkened with blotches and dark streaks. I could no longer read or see the screen info below the Blotches. I tried to heat remove and loosen up the glass from the display only after I had charged it for 48 hours straight with the screen left on. Yes it got very hot but would not separate its self. So I found iFixit.com on youtube looking for answers and how to repair videos and just as important OEM PARTS!!! :)

My Fix

It went very well except i had to end up wearing my driving glasses with my bi focal glasses over them to see how to put back the tiny @%^ screws lol lmao. :) Glad I purchased the best tools. Like the Sim Card remover, iPhone test Strip, Magnetic Mat in which I cut up and put the squares into the Static Free Project Tray that was really cool lol Sure glad I got the Marco Bit Set the little phillips I got with the phone assembly kept on losing magnetic abilities that was a pain in the BUTT. lol any way :) The little suction cup that came with the repair kit way not doable my iPhone 5 was glued like a rock. Glad i purchased the iSlack it worked perfectly. the anti-static brush small worked perfect to clean the dust away and clean up before case closure. It was simple and easy with the right tools wish i could have afforded the magnification lamp lol. Thank you iFixit your web site will have to get my size of shirts " 3xxx " so I can brigg on you all. lol I would not have a like new iPhone 5 NOW if it were not for you. Thank you again, Terry.

My Advice

Yes, make sure to spend the little extra for the best tools to ensure the proper repair without damages and greef and time consuming eye strain. lmao lol :) would not let me add a photo i tried dragging uploading but no cigar lol

My Problem

Poor quality of cheap chinese tools from nearest local shop.

A lot of times I've destroyed screws from my laptop\phone\tablet\mp3 and got problems with disassembly.

My Fix

Ordered tools from iFixit. Very happy with it!

Now it's much easier to replace my tablet display or replace laptop cooler!

My Advice

Use the Force, Luke!

I mean don't use brut force. Use you brain before doing anything.

Good tools do matter. You'd better don't use crappy tools to repair good things.

My Problem

I provide technical security support to the National Labratory in Los Alamos. These tools help me flawlessly accomplish this task.

My Fix

Ever ongoing these tools make it easy.

My Advice

Invest in a good set of tools and your lack of frustration will easily offset the cost.

My Problem

The iPhone battery was discharging too quickly.

My Fix

The battery replacement works fine.

My Advice

The battery replacement give life to the iPhone 4S.

My Problem

My Problem

I have quite an assortment of smaller bits, but this allowed me to complete my selection with the larger sizes.

My Fix

No repair - just wanted the right tools on hand. (You can NEVER have too many tools!)

My Advice

Ordering at the iFixIt web site is very straigh forward. Screens refresh quickly as you move throught the process. iFixIt ALWAYS ships same day if you order early enough. Because I live less than 100 miles away, products arrive next day for cheap ground rates. Packaging is excellent but not wasteful.

This is an A-1 company doing great work. Favor them with your business.
