Calling all tech-heads and chip-heads! It’s that time of year again: Macworld and DesignCon are practically upon us. iFixit will be at both events. So, if you’re in the Bay Area between January 29 and February 2nd, you should drop by and see us.
Our co-founders Kyle Wiens and Luke Soules, along with the rest of the iFixit team, will be hosting various tech talks, meet-ups, teardowns, and having an all-around good time. We’d love to answer all your burning questions about sustainable design, repairability, and tinkering.
Here’s our full schedule. Click each title for more information:
Tuesday, January 29
GoPro HD Hero3: Teardown and Giveaway
We’ll be up to our usual shenanigans at DesignCon, which will take place in Santa Clara, California. Join our teardown specialists at 2 p.m. as we tear down the Hero3—a Wi-Fi-enabled, 4K-resolution-capable camcorder that can be submerged 197 feet underwater with its protective case. We will also have an attendee drawing for a GoPro HD Hero3: Black Edition camera at the end of the presentation.
Wednesday, January 30
Sonos Play:3 Teardown and Giveaway
Teardowns are like cookies: one is never enough. At DesignCon, we’ll also be tearing down a Sonos Play:3 on Wednesday at 3:35. We will have another attendee drawing, this time for a Sonos Play:3, at the end of the presentation. Don’t miss it.
Friday, February 1
iPhone and iPad Teardown at Macworld
Our teardown experts will host a Macworld TechTalk at 3:00 PM and do a teardown of the new iPhone and iPad. From the front panel to processor, we’ll highlight some of the technology that makes the devices tick and talk about the latest in Apple repair. There will be time for questions and mingling.
Meet-up with iFixit
Come hang out with some of the members of the iFixit team including Kyle Wiens, CEO, and Luke Soules, CXO. Chat with us about anything and everything related to repair. We’ll meet at Noisebridge’s Hackertorium space from 6:30 p.m. to about 9:00. Everyone is welcome; food and beverages will be provided. Contact email@example.com for more information.
