iPhone SE 2020 Wallpapers Are Definitely Not iPhone 8 Wallpapers, Absolutely Not, Get Out of Here With That Wild, Unfounded Speculation, You Ridiculous Weirdo

iPhone 8 & SE comparison

Let’s get one thing clear: The iPhone SE released last week is a new phone. Sure, it has many parts you can swap into or out of an iPhone 8. And our engineers decided to compare it side by side with an iPhone 8 as they tore it down. And, sure, there are photos where it’s extremely hard to tell the difference. But look—there’s a top-of-its-class A13 chip inside the iPhone SE, albeit buried under a metal shield. That’s different!

So believe me when I tell you that the wallpapers here come from the newest iPhone SE, not the iPhone 8. Our teardown team choreographed some awkward socially-distant disassembly and photography to bring you these images. And Creative Electron, too, persevered through these perilous times to get you an X-ray view. We are 100% certain we’ve got the right files here.

We respect model names and number hierarchies around here. We would never suggest that, say, our iPhone 8 Insight case would be appropriate to put on your new iPhone SE, just because the case would work perfectly fine and look exactly like your new phone’s well-established insides.

Now that we’ve settled that, let’s get your very new and unique iPhone SE set up with some see-through wallpaper. To set that up, first open up this page on your iPhone. Tap on a wallpaper to view it at full resolution, and then save the image to your photos. You can set it as your wallpaper by selecting “Wallpapers” in the Settings app, and then “Choose a New Wallpaper.”
