How do I know that I'm getting the right part?
Ordering a part for your device can be a little tricky and even a bit confusing at times. We want to make sure you get the right part the first time.
Use the compatibility checker on the product page
When it's available, the fastest and most reliable way to confirm you're buying the right part is the compatibility checker on the product page.
Look for “Compatible with your device?” near the purchase area (see photo above)
Click "Search" to open the checker window
Start typing your device name or model number, then select the exact match. If you see multiple versions (for example different GHz, size, year, or model code like A1466), choose the one that matches your device and click the arrow. Confirm your exact model appears in the compatible list before ordering.
Still not sure? Contact us before ordering
If you want help confirming the right part, feel free to contact us. If you can, please include as many of the following identifiers as possible:
- Serial Number
- Service Tag
- Model Number
- Clear photos of the device and any model labels
- Year the device was manufactured
The more specific the information, the easier it is for us to point you to the correct item.
We don't have a reliable resource for matching Kindle serial numbers to specific models. The easiest way to find your Kindle details is on the device: Open Settings, then look for Device Info.
If you don't have the device with you, you can also find it in your Amazon account: Go to Manage Your Content and Devices, then Your Devices.
Prefer to keep track of devices in one place? With the iFixit app, you can add and save your devices. This can make it easier to reference your model information later when shopping for parts.
