Introduction
In order to ensure your iRobot Roomba 690 is properly maintained, it is essential that the filter is removed for cleaning to prevent its performance from decreasing or debris damaging other parts of the Roomba. Sometimes the filter will require replacement due to being old or damaged itself. It is recommended that the filters be replaced on a Roomba every 6-12 months and cleaned weekly. No additional tools are needed to perform this task, as it is necessary to do frequently to ensure maximum cleaning performance, though you may need some cleaning items for the filter depending on how much debris it collected.

Place the Roomba upside down so that the wheels and brushes are facing upward.

Press the release button on the top side of the Roomba's filter module.

Slide the module out and away from the Roomba.
