iPhone XR Taptic Engine Replacement

Prereq-only guide to remove the Taptic Engine en-route to replacing the battery in an iPhone XR.

What you need

  1. iPhone XR Taptic Engine Replacement, Taptic Engine: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Remove the two 1.8 mm Phillips screws securing the Taptic Engine.

    • Use a spudger to disconnect the Taptic Engine flex cable by prying it straight up from its socket.
