Go to step 1 ↓If your Baby Lock Joy sewing machine isn't producing even stitches or is bunching up the fabric, use this guide to remove a take-up lever thread jam.
The Baby Lock Joy sewing machine creates stitches by moving the thread through the take-up lever. A thread jam in the take-up lever will cause uneven stitching and bunching of the fabric.
What you need

Turn off the sewing machine.

Grab the tail of the sewing thread with tweezers.

Turn the hand wheel in the opposite direction of the thread so the thread can become untangled.

Continue to pull the thread away from the take-up lever until the entire thread comes out.

To reassemble your device, follow steps two and three in reverse order.
