Introduction
In this detailed guide you see how to transfer your iPhone 8 into a new case. Your old one is worn or perhaps you just want a different color, as examples.
What you need
-
-
Remove the two screws to the left and right of the charging/headphone jack with a suitable screwdriver
-
-
-
Work your way around the iphone with a pick (or fingernail). Start in one corner, to loosen the adhesive and retaining tabs. After that, the display should lay loosely with a gap of about 2mm on the phone.
-
-
-
-
Now you can open the display to the left. Attention: no further than 90⁰, otherwise the ribbon cables of the display will break off.
-
-
-
Under this sheet metal are all the important cables of the phone. This sheet is fastened with four small Phillips screws. After removing the sheet, carefully lift the two display cable connectors with your fingernail until they unplug from the board.
-
-
-
Under this sheet are the cable for the speaker/front camera and the cable for the main camera. First, loosen the cable for the front camera to remove the display completely.
-
-
-
The camera sits under this sheet metal. The sheet metal is held in place by two screws. After removing the sheet metal, unplug the camera cable and remove the camera.
-
The Bluetooth antenna is curved into the corner of the phone. It is secured to the housing with a screw and to the circuit board with another screw
-
-
-
The microphone is attached to the housing with a screw and to the back panel with a screw. Both screws must be removed and when doing so note that the microphone is also glued.
-
-
-
Now remove the cover of the NFC device. After removing the cover, the board is only held in place by three screws.
