    • Apple includes a "SIM eject tool" with the iPhone 3G. If you don't have this tool, don't worry, an ordinary paperclip works just as well.

    • Insert your SIM eject tool or a paper clip into the hole next to the headphone jack.

    • Press down on the tool until the SIM card tray pops out.

  2. iPhone 3GS SIM Card Replacement: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Remove the SIM card from the SIM card tray.

    • The cut-off corner should make it easy to reinstall the SIM card in the correct orientation.

The the sim has slipped and the eject spring (using the iphone tool) is not ejecting the sim,

I think I need a tool to open the case - which one?

I may need another spring - do iFixit sell them?

    Can anyone help me? DitsyLady

Hi, I followed these instructions and my sim came out easily but now I can’t get the tray back into my phone. I have tried turning the screw both ways with my paper clip but nothing works. Help!

for re-inserting the SIM card tray it's good to know that the side of the SIM card with the metal contacts should face DOWN (towards the back of the iPhone)
