What you need

If the Glass is cracked, contain further breakage by putting packaging tape on the broken glass. I recommend pitting on safety glasses in case any breakage is loose from the tape.
-
-
-
Remove the 2 screws on the Dock Connector side. Refer to the second image for taking of the front assembly.
-
-
-
-
Angle the screes to a 45 degree angle and use a spudger (or your finger) to disconnect cable 1.
-
-
-
Tilt the display to an almost vertical angle and use a spudger (or your finger) to disconnect cable 2.
-
-
-
Disconnect Cable 3. You will need to open the locking mechanism with a spudger (or your finger) to remove cable 3, otherwise it would be physically impossible to remove and reconnect cable 3.
-
Sometimes the colours are inverted. In this case, the locking mechanism latch is always the smaller colour.
-
In some Non-American countries, the latch is non-existent. In this case you would have to slide the cable off the port, and you would have to apply pressure to reconnect it.

To reassemble your device, follow Steps 1-5 in reverse order.
