Introduction

Use this guide to remove or replace the SIM card in your iPhone 15. This guide is for the physical SIM card only; the embedded SIM (eSIM) is silicon-based and cannot be removed. Please note that some regions sold the iPhone 15 without physical SIM support and therefore this guide does not apply for all iPhone 15 devices.

What you need

Step 1 Eject the SIM tray

Insert a SIM card eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole in the SIM card tray, located under the volume buttons on the left side of the iPhone.
Press firmly to eject the SIM tray.

Step 2 Remove the SIM tray

Remove the SIM tray from the iPhone.
The SIM card will easily fall out of the tray.
When reinserting a SIM card make sure it is on the correct side so that it can be read by the iPhone.
A thin rubber gasket around the SIM tray provides water and dust protection. If this gasket is damaged or missing, replace the gasket or the entire SIM tray to protect your iPhone's internal components.
