Introduction
This guide is strictly on how to replace the home button flex on an ipad mini digitizer. please follow the steps on getting this digitizer assembly off of the device, in order to reach the start of this procedure.
What you need

Use heat to losen the adhesive. A low temp hot air gun will suffice.

After heating up the adhesive, you can use a basic spudger to pry off the flex from the glass

be sure not to use too much force, this flex is very fragile.

use your iron, and low guage solder to apply a layer of your own solder on the pads

the new solder will allow for faster, and more controlled heat transfer.

a few back and forth strokes of your soldering iron should be enough to remove the flex cable.

be sure not to apply too much force with the iron, as you can cause physical damage to the pads.

Using a little bit of solder flux, can help decrease the amount of pressure needed to properly transfer the heat.

be sure to make sure you can see directly through the holes marked on both sides.

Line the corrisponding holes up, and make sure they are 100% overlapped.

failing to properly line up the holes can cause a short, or cold circuit.

Use the new solder you added, to connect to the flex.

be sure to cover the traces with some electrical tape to avoid shorts.
