What you need

  1. iMac Whiteboard, iMac Whiteboard: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • We start up with an empty case of an iMac.

    • For directions on removing all of the interior components from your iMac, check out the 24" iMac EMC 2111 device page.

    • This procedure should also work on an iMac G5 or early Intel iMac.

  2. iMac Whiteboard: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Unscrew the case and take the 56x35 whiteboard, check that it fits nicely.

  3. iMac Whiteboard: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Apply contact cement to the inside borders of the front case. Leave to dry for about 5 minutes.

    • Place the whiteboard onto the front case and put weight on it.

    • Make sure that the whiteboard touches the lower side of the metal panel.

    • Leave to dry out for a day.

    • Mark up 4 lines of 4cm each on the cardboard.

    • Cut up a rectangle and fold to make up a cylinder. Use scotch tape to hold them together.

    • Repeat to get 2 more cylinders.

    • Glue the cylinders to the back case of the iMac.

    • This is to have some pressure against the whiteboard.

    • After the contact cement has dried, take out the small contact cement remnants from the board with a box cutter and a plastic tool (as to not damage the whiteboard)

    • Reassemble your iMac and write something on it.
