What you need

    • Remove the top shell of the mouse by using the iFixit opening tool to carefully pry the top shell apart from the bottom plate.

    • Remove the adhesive pads using precision tweezers or the iFixit opening tool.

    • Adhesive pads are located on the bottom of the mouse.

    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all four 10 mm screws.

    • Carefully pull the middle shell apart from the bottom plate.

    • The circuit board should then be visible and attached to the bottom plate.

    • Remove the scroll wheel by pushing it to the right and pulling up.

    • If the switches themselves are the issue, first dip a Q-tip into some isopropyl alcohol and rub it into and around the white switches. This should remove any dirt or debris that is impeding the operation of the switch.

    • The red switch seen in this image would otherwise be covered by the scroll wheel.

    • If the switches still do not work, then they need to be replaced. Mouse clicker switches can be purchased online, please refer to this soldering guide for the steps needed to remove and replace these switches.
