Introduction
In this guide you will learn how to replace the surrounds on the Treblab HD77. Surrounds are the rubber membrane on the sides of the speaker and they are responsible for keeping the audio quality under control. The surrounds help to keep the speaker diaphragm in a controlled range of motion which improves audio quality and creates bass. Without the surrounds, the diaphragm will move in and out too much which will cause for very poor audio quality and may even damage the speaker as a result. This guide aims to assist in replacing the surrounds in the event that they become damaged or break.
Note that the speaker is water resistant and as a result there is a water resistant adhesive used to hold some components in place, including the surrounds. In order to restore the water resistance of the speaker, this adhesive will need to be reapplied to its original location before reassembly.
Make sure the device is powered off before disassembly.
