Introduction

This guide will show you how to replace your keyboard.

Image 1/3: Push back the screen until it is horizontal with the laptop. Image 2/3: Gently remove the clips that hold the panel onto the screen hinges. Image 3/3: Gently remove the clips that hold the panel onto the screen hinges.
  • Carefully pry off the panel above the keyboard from the both sides of the laptop using a flat edge tool.

  • Push back the screen until it is horizontal with the laptop.

  • Gently remove the clips that hold the panel onto the screen hinges.

Image 1/3: Gently pry the keyboard from the laptop on the upper outer edges using the flat edge tool. Image 2/3: Slowly lift the keyboard away from the laptop until you are able to remove the ribbon that connects the keyboard to the laptop. Image 3/3: '''CAUTION!!''' Make sure you remove the keyboard slowly to avoid damaging the ribbon cable.
  • Remove the two screws on the upper outer edges of the keyboard with a #1 Phillips head screwdriver.

  • Gently pry the keyboard from the laptop on the upper outer edges using the flat edge tool.

  • Slowly lift the keyboard away from the laptop until you are able to remove the ribbon that connects the keyboard to the laptop.

  • CAUTION!! Make sure you remove the keyboard slowly to avoid damaging the ribbon cable.
