Tokidos Play Cubes LED Repair guide

Grab a tiny screwdriver. Flip over the cube. Unscrew the screws. Pretty straight forward so far. Put the screws somewhere where you won't lose them. This still has to be durable enough to handle your kids after we're all done.

Disconnect the JST cables. Don't disconnect the antenna running to the ESP. I mean, you can, but I've been warned it's a pain to reconnect and I respect that. It's also not necessary to get to the top part

Carefully unscrew the head. The biggest thing to watch out for is the spring. It is easily lost. It is magnetic FYI. Extra photo of the spring by itself should the need arise to identify.

There are wires. The green and yellow were broken for me. Typically the green wire will be broken. Strip the wire. There's enough solder you can basically just press a tinned iron and melt and then it will just resolidify back in. I had to tape the top of the cord because I got a bit too wild with the soldering iron.

After you're done dump a 5 minute crafts level of hot glue over all the wires.....cause....kids

Find that dang spring again. Reassemble. the front has a little groove so you can orient it right. Hidden technology, simple, sleek, effective.

The cables only connect one way so there's no reason to be concerned about orientation or position of the cables. The inny bits each have a unique outybit, marked by size or color.

Then screw with the screws that have not rolled off your desk. Hopefully all 4.

Test. Make sure it works. Because if it doesn't your kids will cry.
