ThinkPad X1 Carbon Wireless Card Replacement

What you need

  1. ThinkPad X1 Carbon Wireless Card Replacement, Loosen Cover Screws: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Using the #0 Phillips screwdriver, loosen the seven cover screws. they will not come all of the way out.

  2. ThinkPad X1 Carbon Wireless Card Replacement: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Using the spudger pop the cover loose and remove.

  3. ThinkPad X1 Carbon Wireless Card Replacement, Disconnect Battery: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Use only plastic tools to disconnect battery cable

    • Slide battery connector in the direction if the arrow to disconnect.

    • You can leave the battery or remove it using the red circles for the screw locations.

  4. ThinkPad X1 Carbon Wireless Card Replacement: step 4, image 1 of 1
    • Remove screw holding the wireless card in place.

  5. ThinkPad X1 Carbon Wireless Card Replacement, Remove Antenna Cables: step 5, image 1 of 1
    • Carefully remove the antenna cables and slide out the card in the direction of the arrow.

    • The gray connector is on the top. The black connector is closer to the battery.
