Introduction

You will learn how to open the ThinkPad X1 Carbon and replace the battery.

What you need

Step 1 Loosen Cover Screws

Loosen the seven cover screws. They will not come out.

Step 2 Remove Cover

Use spudger to pop loose cover and slide off.

Step 3 Disconnect Battery

Only use plastic to remove battery connector
Gently remove battery connector by pushing with the spudger in the direction of the arrow.
Remove four screws holding battery in place and remove battery.
