Door for the baby bed Sniglar from Ikea

What you need

  1. Door for the baby bed Sniglar from Ikea, Grille: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Unscrew one of the grilles and saw it apart. On the photo you can see how mine looks in the end. I had decided to make the gate 6 bars wide.

  2. Door for the baby bed Sniglar from Ikea: step 2, image 1 of 2 Door for the baby bed Sniglar from Ikea: step 2, image 2 of 2
    • Organize a bolt about 6 cm long. I took a screw and sawed off the thick end.

    • Drill a hole in each of the two upper horizontal edges/boards. For me it is 3 cm each. Drill as centrally and horizontally as possible, or minimally upwards.

    • Insert the bolt and push the two grille parts together.

  3. Door for the baby bed Sniglar from Ikea: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Screw the assembled grille back onto the bed. Screw in only 3 screws; I left out the screw at the bottom right.

    • Screw on the lower edge which should not be able to be opened with another screw. (This is only possible with pre-drilling).

  4. Door for the baby bed Sniglar from Ikea: step 4, image 1 of 1
    • At the bottom of the short side, place another screw in the edge (again with predrilling) so that the bottom cannot fall out.

Conclusion

Done. Maybe you could think of something else so that the gate stays up when you press against it. However, you can turn the gate 270° and put it on top to get a permanent opening.
