Step 1 Locate the air filter cover

• The air filter is located inside a plastic housing mounted on the left side of the engine.

Step 2 Open the air filter cover




• Lift up the cover locking tab located on the top of the filter housing.
• Swing the cover open.
• Once it is fully open, lift the cover off the hinges and remove it.

Step 3 Remove the air filter
• Grasp the old filter and pull it out of the housing.

Step 4 Clean the filter housing
• Remove old oil and dirt from the inside of the filter housing with absorbent paper or cloth.

Step 5 Filter replacement
• Soak the new air filter with a teaspoon of motor oil.
• Position the air filter in the housing.

Step 6 Reinstall the cover
• Replace the cover by aligning the two lower hinge tabs in their slots.

• Swing the cover back up into place. Press firmly on the top edge until the latch seats.
